FAQs

Will we see Dolphins on our adventure?

Maybe, although we can’t guarantee sightings of the dolphins because of mother nature.

What if seas are rough?

If we need to cancel your trip due to rough sea conditions or minimum passenger numbers not being met, we will offer to reschedule you for a later date. If this is not possible, we can issue you with a full refund. Please note: If you cancel a booking yourself, we require 24 hour’s notice to be able to issue a refund.

Can I bring my dog

Well behaved dogs are permitted on our boats, however, often dogs do not like the sensation of being on a bouncy boat so please take this into consideration.

Is there an age limit for our Boat Trips?

We don’t have a minimum (or a maximum!) age, however provided that the child is 1.2 meters or over, this will allow them to place there feet on the foot rests. (babies are not permitted). Please be advised that our boats travel at speed and can be very bouncy which some young children enjoy but others are not so keen on. Our boat is equipped with individual suspension seats, the child will need to be able to comfortably hold on. Individual children’s suitability is at your discretion. If in doubt, get in touch and we can discuss your requirements.

Will I be able to access the boat if I have mobility issues?

Access to the boat will either be down a gentle slope onto a pontoon or via steps on the harbourside with a step down into the boat. We have taken many passengers with mobility issues and our crew are very accommodating to give assistance where necessary. If you can make it up/down a flight of stairs either with or without assistance, you should be fine to access the boat.

What can you guarantee we will see?

When it comes to viewing wild animals, there is nothing we can guarantee 100% as wildlife can be unpredictable. Seals are seen on most trips, although how many we see and how sociable they are feeling will vary trip by trip. Dolphins are seen regularly, with a high success rate on our longer tours, and can be seen all year round. However, there is no real pattern to where or when we will see dolphins, nor is there a better time of year or day, but we do know the best places to search! Basking shark sightings are now becoming incredibly rare due to warming sea temperatures so the likelihood of spotting one is sadly very slim. Minke whale sightings tend to peak between April and August but they can be seen at any time of year. Although a lot of our sightings are unpredictable, this means every trip is different and every wildlife sighting is special!

What if it is raining?

Our trips still run on rainy days. Rain does not deter the marine life (they are wet anyway!) so we simply wrap up in waterproofs and go for it! Please dress extra warm on rainy days with lots of layers to avoid getting cold. If you would prefer not to go out on a rainy day, please keep an eye on the weather and you may cancel your booking yourself. If we receive at least 48 hour’s notice, we can issue you with a full refund.

Will we get wet?

We do not get wet on every trip, but our boat is exposed to the elements, and on windy days chances of sea spray are much greater. Basically, the windier it is, the wetter you may get! We do recommend a waterproof jacket if you have one, at least to keep the wind off and keep you warm (it gets cold out at sea even on warmer days).

Do you provide waterproof coats and trousers?

Yes we have a selection of waterproofs available for you to borrow.

What if my trip is cancelled?

If we cancel your trip due to rough sea conditions or minimum passenger numbers (2) not being met, we will contact you as soon as possible to offer to reschedule you to a later date. If this is not possible, we can issue you with a full refund. Please note: If you cancel a booking yourself, we require at least 48 hour’s notice to be able to issue a refund.

Do you allow pregnant women?

Due to the bouncy nature of the boat and the unpredictability of sea conditions, our tours are not suitable for pregnant women.

I have back problems. Are your trips suitable?

All our trips travel at speed and can be very bouncy in places so we do not recommend our trips for those with back/spine/bone problems.

Do you have wheelchair access?

Yes, however in complete honesty we are yet to take a wheelchair user. Our seats are fully removable, allowing us to make space for a wheelchair user. Please get in touch to discuss this possibility further.

The weathers absolutely fine, why have you cancelled my trip?

The vessel we use is used for TV and film as well as our adventures. In the unlikely event that we need to reschedule your adventure we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible. If rescheduling is not possible, we will issue you with a full refund, and 15% off your next booked adventure.

Where do I start and finish my adventure?

We start and finish all our adventures from Plymouth landing Stage. Postcode – PL1 2NX. WhatThreeWords – Crazy.buyers.format.

If you can see the boat, please make your way down the landing stage and you will be meet by our skipper. If the boat isn’t alongside, we won’t be long! Please wait at the top to avoid overcrowding the pontoon.
